Fund Raising

Scout Groups rely on fund raising activities and Subs to generate income. We have no external funding from anyone.

All the work in the Group is voluntary . Yes all the leaders give of their time free every week and all the commitee and supporters give of their time free.

To help us keep things going the 3rd has two major fund raising events.

The Group runs the Riverhead Carnival that is held in mid to late September and is held at Chipstead Common Witches Lane Riverhead.

We regulaly attract in excess of 4,500 visitors and have approx 62 stalls.

The stalls are a mix of local community and commercial stalls. We always ensure that there is not too many commercial stalls as this is a village carnival.

The other event is the firework display that is help surprisingly on a Saturday near to 5th November !.

A family display that last about 20 mins. First Rocket is about 7pm.

We have the fireworks and we have Burgers and drinks available and sometimes the glow sticks and that's it no need to shell out a fortune
