Summer camp 2011
Summer camp this year is at Langham farm Rode and is situated next to the River Frome.
We hope that while at camp we will be able to upload inforation and pictures to this page.
Well we are only days away from camp now so time to check personal kit and makes sure that its named and ready for paking. Remeber not the best stuff.
All personal kit needs to be packed in a rucksack and be at the HQ with you at Scouts on Thursday as it will go down on the lorry.
Not sure about anything before camp then email or ring one of the leaders.
Hi well here we are Wednesday. Sorry the internet connection has not been good.
Weather has been good so far with only a few drops of rain yesterday.
We have been into Bath today for a wonder around the town and also chance for a swim and shower in the leisure centre.
During the week so far we have had Scouts rafting ( note to self more practice with Scouts for tying knots) grass sledging . cricket, golf, swimming.
We have unfortunatly had a couple of people go down with a sickness bug but they are now on the mend.
Yes internet access again.
Its 21:25 on Thursday and the Scouts are just sitting around the camp fire finishing off a game of just a minute. We have had a great day with the weather being very kind to us and having hot and sunny weather all day. Last night we had a campfire which finished off the day to Bath nicely.
Todays has been mystery day and the theme was TV shows. Scouts were woken to Big brother giving them a task to run up and down the near by hill singing the grand old duke of york. This was followed by This morning with the presenters ( leaders) interviewing Scouts about their camp so far. Then Kim and Agie ( Sam and Ollie) were around to find out how clean is your tent.
We then went on to crow a small version of the CBBC show Raven. The Scouts had to cross a river on a raft and collect barrels which were worth different points values to add to the score for the camp. We then had a true and false game and then moved onto come dine with Troop where the patrols had to prepare a salade for lunch This afternoon we have had the heats of just a minute and deal or no deal. Judging from the laughter comeing from behind me by the fire it sounds as if all have had a good day. Bed by 10 for the Scouts looks on the cards for tonight!!!
Where has the week gone only one more full day on site and we have already said bye to Verity who has to be on a flight at 05:00am good luck with waking her up tomorrow.
Sorry we have not been able upload photos but the internet connection has been a little tempremental so will have to wait until we are back sorry.
Will try and update the site again tomorrow.
All home safe and sound. Thanks to al that helped unload the lorry in record time.
We have a fair bit of found property at the HQ so please do have a look when you aree down.
We have many photos and will upload a few to here and also to the noticeboard at the HQ.
