Blue Peter Scouts on TV
10th February 2007
Bradbourne Scouts were luck enough to be contacted to see if they could supply some Scouts to take part in filming for BBC's Blue Peter program.
The program will be shown later this month and the entire program is on Scouting and the centenary of Scouting
So on Friday night 9th Feb the 23 Scouts 2 Explorer Scouts and 5 leaders all boarded the coach for Youlbury campsite. No-one quite knew what to expect and one of the things that I don't think any of us had planned for was the 3 inches of snow that met us as we got of the coach.
Once unloaded we were shown to the barn where we were to leave our kit before the briefing of where everyone was to sleep and what activities we would be doing. As we were unloading our kit we were joined by Peter Duncan Chief Scout and Andy from Blue Peter who stopped and chatted to the Scouts.
After surviving the night with the snow on the ground and sleet/snow showers the Scouts were then into activities for the day . These included Zip wire, bivy building ,backwoods cooking, archery, absailing, shooting, leap of faith, high ropes course , 3G swing ,peddal karts climbing and more.
All had busy day and many slept on the coach on the way back.
