Scout Brave snow to camp news article
10 Scouts,9 Explorers and 5 leaders braved the snow and cold weather at the weekend to emjoy a winter camp. Having looked at the forecast it was decided not to camp all weekend at Gilwell Park for the Winter camp but to camp out ( or in) at the HQ. All the Scouts and leaders elected to sleep out with the Explorers elexting to sleep inside. Over night more snow fell but the roads were clear so we went upto Gilwell for the Saturday to take part in over 70 activities on offer. On offer were activities including Brushboarding, climbing and absailing ,robot wars simulators, quad biking, clay pigeon shooting and fun fair rides to name but a few.Returning to the HQ for and evening meal and some films. The night again brought us more snow and the next day we put this to good use by sledging at Chevening.
A great weekend with all the Scouts and Explorers doing very well in the conditions.
