St George’s Day parade and activity fun for all!
20th March 2024
Open Air St George’s Day on Sunday 21st April 2024 – bringing the whole District together.
Meet at the Stag Theatre Car Park at 2.10pm, parade sets off at 2.30pm.
We will march along the High Street then onto Seal Hollow Road, before turning down Plymouth Drive to Lady Boswell’s School where we will hold our Scouting promise renewal service and awards presentation on the playing field.
Park in the leisure centre car park for free before the parade, as there is a pedestrian exit from the school.
Parents can watch from the side of the High Street then fall in behind the main parade to the school for the promise renewal ceremony and activity fun after the service or Volunteer to support this event either as a road marshal, oversee an activity base or help lead the national anthem.
Please contact your Group Lead Volunteer or sign up directly if you can help.
Around 3.15pm, after the ceremony, Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs will be released back into your care to take part in a series of short activities and challenge bases provided by each group, recording them on their own “passport” card, to be returned to their own leaders. Scouts and Explorers do not need to accompanied.
We expect to be finished around 4.30 pm.
Uniform should be worn if you can and can be ordered from our local shop online: scoutshop.sevenoaksscouts.org.uk/
Smart school clothes are also fine if no uniform - please also dress for the weather – be it sun-tan lotion or waterproofs and bear in mind that most of the events are taking place on a football field.
Vote to support the district with allocation of awards and/or volunteer using our district website escouting.sevenoaksscouts.org.uk/stg/
Refreshments will be available at the event (hot and cold drinks plus hot-dogs), with donations being collected for charity.
