Riverhead Carnival Sunday 18th September 2011
The 3rd Riverhead & Dunton Green Scout Group organises and runs the Riverhead Carnival located on Chipstead Common, Witches Lane.
Admission is free.
With approx 80 stalls on offer, the event encourages local voluntary and community groups and businesses to support their local community by holding a stall on the green. Attendance is around 4,500.
The carnival opens at 12.30 with the campaigners band and is supported with music throughout the event by the Hullaballo Roadshow ending around 4.30pm.
Arena events take place throughout the afternoon, including the egg throwing event that was introduced to the area by the Scout group and now copied by others.
Activities on offer include many local organisations with side shows and games bouncy castles, coconut shy, big slide, zorbes, roundabouts, crazy golf, tombolas, magic show, crafts, etc.
Dog Show - members of the public can enter their family pet in the popular dog show. Any dog can enter (not only rescue dogs) Please contact the RSPCA email : jeanboyd-barrett@talktalk.net if you require further details, not the Scouts.
Ice Cream available.
Refreshments are available from the 3rd Scout Group burger & drinks stalls.
No more refreshment stalls will be admitted, thank you. (apart from cake stalls, etc). Please note PHOENIX Cards are already allocated a stall.
