Public Benefit Statement
Charitable Purposes
The 3rd Sevenoaks Scout Group aims to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potentials as individuals, responsible citizens, and members of their local, national, and international communities.
Identifiable Benefit
Our activities provide young people with opportunities to develop skills for life,
including leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving. Through our programs, members gain confidence, resilience and a sense of adventure.
Public Access
The group is open to all young people aged 6 to 25, regardless of background, ability, or financial situation. We offer financial assistance to ensure that no one is excluded from participating due to cost.
Impact on the Community
We engage in various community service projects, such as environmental
clean-ups, supporting local charities, and participating in national and international Scouting events. We organise and run the Riverhead Carnival in September and the Riverhead Fireworks in November on behalf of our local community and are represented at important community events, such as St George’s Day and
the annual Remembrance Service. These activities foster a sense of community and civic responsibility among our members.
Transparency and Accountability
Our activities and financial accounts are published annually and are
available to the public. We are registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (Registration #:303437), ensuring that we operate with transparency and accountability.
